How it is calculated

  1. In Cyprus a PV system yields about 1,600 kWh per kWp per year. Under net billing (from 2026) energy you use as it is produced saves you the full electricity price, while energy exported to the grid is credited at a lower price.

  2. Annual saving = self-consumed energy × electricity price + exported energy × export price. Payback = (cost − grant) ÷ annual saving. The 25-year saving accounts for 0.5% yearly degradation.

Frequently asked questions

What self-consumption should I assume?

Without a battery, households away during the day reach 25–35%. With a water heater, daytime air conditioning or a battery, 50–70%.

Is there a grant?

The residential PV grant scheme is renewed yearly with different amounts per kW and a cap. Enter the amount valid when you apply.
