How it is calculated
The bill is made of: generation charge per kWh, network usage and ancillary services, fuel price adjustment (positive or negative, against a €300/tonne reference), public service obligations, the RES and energy saving levy, fixed charges per bill and VAT.
VAT on electricity is reduced to 9% until 31 March 2027 (temporary measure). Component rates here are the published tariff 01 rates and may differ slightly, check your bill.

Frequently asked questions
Why is the per-kWh price far above the 10 cent tariff?
The energy charge is only about a third. Network, fuel, levies and VAT bring the total to 25–32 cents per kWh.
What is the fuel adjustment?
An amount per kWh reflecting the difference between EAC's current fuel cost (and emission allowances) and the base price. Published monthly by EAC.
