How it is calculated
All Monday–Friday days in the range are counted and those falling on a public holiday are removed. Fixed holidays: 1 Jan, 6 Jan, 25 Mar, 1 Apr, 1 May, 15 Aug, 1 Oct, 28 Oct, 25 Dec, 26 Dec. Movable ones follow Orthodox Easter.

Frequently asked questions
Is Easter Tuesday a holiday?
It is a bank and public-sector holiday, not a general public holiday for the private sector, so it is not deducted here.
Is a holiday moved when it falls on a weekend?
No, Cyprus does not move public holidays. If one falls on a Saturday or Sunday it is simply lost, unless your collective agreement or contract says otherwise.
When is Easter?
Orthodox Easter 2026 is on 12 April (Good Friday 10 April, Easter Monday 13 April), Green Monday on 23 February and Whit Monday on 1 June. In 2027 Easter falls on 2 May. The tool computes these automatically for every year, and they usually differ from Western Easter.
Am I paid extra for working on a public holiday?
The law sets no general rate; whatever your collective agreement or contract says applies. In the private sector an extra day's pay or a day off in lieu is the norm.
